Recently, Google released two updates that use new AI capabilities to make searching more natural and intuitive. Circle to Search is the first new feature that lets Android users search anything on their screen by just highlighting or circling anything. Google’s multisearch function, which was launched in 2022, is improved with the second upgrade. Users who snap a screenshot or take a photo and ask a question will receive an “AI-powered overview” that compiles the most pertinent data from the web.
Circle to Search allows users to quickly search for appropriate information without having to switch between apps by circling, highlighting, or tapping text, photos, or videos within apps. Circle to Search aims to give a more streamlined user experience by enabling rapid access to searches without interfering with the present work, especially when curiosity prompts someone to check something up while already using their phone for another purpose. On January 31st, Google’s newest Pixel 8 phones, the Pixel 8 Pro, and Samsung’s recently introduced Galaxy S24 series devices will be the first to offer this convenient in-app searching feature globally. Context switching and interruption might be reduced and the overall Android user experience could be improved by the integration between apps.
In 2022, Google Lens debuted multisearch, enabling users to combine text and image searches. Still, multisearch’s capabilities have been substantially increased by recent advances in AI. In addition to being able to visually recognize an object, you can now point your camera at something, ask questions, and receive AI-generated responses. This greatly facilitates your learning process when it comes to new things. For you, the AI conducts the necessary research and gathers pertinent data.
With the advent of these, Android users can expect a more seamless and engaging search experience, particularly those with new Pixel and Galaxy devices. The power and influence of our digital tools will grow along with AI. However, it is crucial to consider the authenticity of the information these tools provide us with.
