Google is bringing a couple of new exciting capabilities into Gemini AI. The Company’s AI chatbot Gemini will get AI agent Gems and Imagen 3 AI model’s image-generating capabilities.
Google announced in a blog post that Gems and Imagen 3 will be integrated into the Gemini apps. These functionalities were first unveiled at this year’s I/O event.
Google Gems lets users modify Gemini to make unique and personalized AI chatbots. They are essentially miniature variants of the Gemini chatbot and can be tailored to focus on specific groups of subjects, allowing the AI model to generate more precise and targeted data. All you have to do is write instructions for your Gem, give it a name, and then you can start having conversations with it.
Google says “With Gems, you can create a team of experts to help you think through a challenging project, brainstorm ideas for an upcoming event, or write the perfect caption for a social media post.”
Upon accessing Gems, users will also find a collection of pre-made Gems built by Google. These consist of a career guide, learning coach, brainstormer, writing editor, and coding partner. Users of Gemini Advanced, Gemini Business, and Gemini Enterprise in more than 150 countries can now access Google’s Gems feature on desktop and mobile devices.
Imagen 3, the company’s most recent AI tool for generating images, is also being made available to Gemini apps. One notable improvement in Imagen 3 is that users will now be able to generate images of people using the AI model. This feature was previously removed after many users pointed out that Gemini was generating harmful and prejudiced images involving people. The company also claims to have implemented built-in measures to lessen the risk of deepfakes.
This model will be available to free users; however, Gemini Advanced, Business, and Enterprise will be the first to get the capability to generate images of people.
