DJI Mic is an audio technology gear made by the company who’s more renowned for its drones and cameras. This gear is a keen approach by DJI that’s about to alter your perspective. The Mic, the company’s first specialized audio recording gear was recently introduced in the United States. The wireless clip-on gadget claims to capture 24-bit, 48KHz audio for your vlogs or other spoken-word video from up to 820 feet away. That isn’t very noteworthy in and of itself, but DJI is obviously attempting to attract wireless earbud lovers with the design – you charge the transmitters and receiver in a battery case that delivers a total of 15 hours of use. You can expect up to 5.5 hours of use every session.
The Mic has a 3.5mm connector, Lightning, and USB-C outputs, as well as basic audio controls like sensitivity (between -12dB and +12dB) and variable gain. A furry windscreen is included to keep a stormy day from disrupting your display. The system costs $329 right now. That’s a lot of money to spend if all you want to do is capture audio with your phone. If you simply need the essentials, you can pay a fraction of the price. However, if you rely on long-distance recording or desire the flexibility that DJI’s charging case and output selection can provide, the cost may be easier to justify.
