Microsoft is giving its best to win the position of top-used search engine. And now Microsoft is rolling out Bing’s voice mode to Edge on the desktop. This latest update lets you ask Bing’s chatbot questions using your voice. Then it will respond to you in its own voice.
It works similarly to the feature on the mobile version of Edge. All you need to do is to select the microphone button on Bing’s chat box and then ask your question aloud. As per Microsoft, presently its chatbot supports English, Japanese, French, German, and Mandarin. It is also working towards bringing more languages in the coming time.
According to reports by Verge, Microsoft plans to discontinue Cortana on Windows later this year. It is speculated that this is the reason behind Microsoft’s move to bring voice mode to Bing Chat on a desktop. While Cortana allows users to use voice commands to set timers, create reminders, open applications, and a lot more. Microsoft is now directing users toward Bing and its AI-powered Copilot that it’s building into Windows 11 as better replacements.
Once Windows Copilot is rolled out to the public, it will live directly in your taskbar. Then choose it and you can ask general questions. It would summarize the content you’re viewing, adjust your PC’s settings, and a lot more.
