The Browser Company, which was the brains behind Arc Browser, has just teased Dia, a new web browser that focuses on artificial intelligence technologies.
Josh Miller, the CEO of The Browser Company, hinted in October that the company will be releasing a more AI-focused product. A new video unveils Dia, a web browser designed to use AI technologies to make everyday internet operations easier. The launch is planned for early 2025.
The video features a few familiar AI features such as an autocomplete feature that collects information from the internet, summary generation, and idea generation.
It can also understand everything displayed in the browser window, allowing it to take action based on any visible information. The example in the video demonstrated copying a list of Amazon links from open tabs and inserting them into an email.
Dia can also be seen “performing actions on your behalf” in the video by typing commands into the URL bar. For example, you can ask Dia to locate a particular document based on a description and then send it to someone using your preferred email platform.
Finally, the video shows the browser performing even more complex tasks, such as adding products to your Amazon cart from an email. Dia achieves this by independently searching Amazon, locating these products, and putting them in your cart. This prototype feature also shows Dia viewing a Notion table with member details for a video shoot and sending individually tailored emails to each participant.
Josh Miller, the CEO, states in the video that he thinks artificial intelligence (AI) is the future. However, he does not intend to replace the Arc browser with Dia.
