Microsoft Defender is finally accessible for all of your personal devices, not only Windows PCs and enterprises. The new Defender for people provides Microsoft 365 members with an online solution that supplements the existing malware and phishing protection procedures you’re (hopefully) using. It brings anti-malware protection from Windows to Android, iOS, and macOS. You’ll also get security warnings, as well as solutions and tips. You can control the protection of your entire family from a single dashboard and see the antivirus systems you already use (including third-party software).
Microsoft warned that new malware defenses aren’t accessible when iOS and Windows already have them. Only Mac and Windows computers have access to advice.
In most countries, Defender for people is included with Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions. In the United States, a Personal account costs $70 per year. The business promised that this was “only the beginning” of its efforts, and that it wanted to add features such as identity theft protection and secure connections in the future.
This is not meant to be a replacement for all of your other defenses. You should still be cautious, especially for fraud and other digital crimes that Microsoft’s technology does not now address. However, it might be a beneficial addition, and it’s an easy decision if you currently use Microsoft 365.
