Arturia’s softsynths are now much easier to utilize on your fresh new MacBook. Arturia has published a free V Collection 8.2 upgrade that adds native support for Macs with M1 processors to the (currently discounted) suite. As you might expect, this should increase performance, but it may also assist with battery life if you need to play unplugged.
Other speed improvements are on the way. The upgrade improves 4K interface performance with a new foundation and presets from the V Collection factory libraries now load up to twice as fast. There’s also ODDSound MTS-ESP microtuning support for the Clavinet V, DX7 V, Piano V, and Stage-73 V.
If you make music with softsynths, this may be a significant update. Arturia is known for creating virtual instruments that are both professional and user-friendly. This makes V Collection more practical on M1 Macs and provides you more reason to rely on digital synthesizers rather than their more expensive real-world equivalents.
