Google has improved the Bard AI chatbot so that users may have more in-depth and meaningful conversations with it about YouTube videos. The company reported in its most recent experiment update log that it has enhanced the capabilities of Bard’s YouTube extension such that when activated, the generative AI can “understand some video content.” For example, Google stated that you will be able to ask Bard how many eggs were used in a video recipe for olive oil cake. You’ll also be able to ask it for the names of certain equipment in DIY tutorials, as a credible source proposed. For food reviews, Bard might be able to tell you where certain restaurants mentioned in films are situated, or where a certain dish originated. Bard initially acquired access to YouTube data in September, following an update that integrated it with other Google products including Docs, Maps, Lens, Flights, and Hotels. It couldn’t, however, interpret a video’s contents or answer comprehensive inquiries about it. Google stated that it released this upgrade because it “heard you want deeper engagement with YouTube videos.” It also stated that it has just made the “first steps in Bard’s ability to understand YouTube videos,” implying that the technology might eventually better analyze footage on the platform. You must enable the YouTube extension on the chatbot’s web portal in order to speak with Bard about YouTube videos.
