Adobe has introduced exciting new AI features for Acrobat, its popular PDF editing program. The Adobe Firefly Image 3 foundation model, the third version of the company’s proprietary text-to-image generation model, powers these features.
The company explains that users can alter images in Acrobat with tools like Generative Fill, Remove Background, Erase, and Crop to “add, remove, and revitalize content” from images in the document thanks to the generative AI-powered features.
Additionally, Image 3 allows users to create images through text-based prompts within documents. Any area of the document can have images added to it, and they can be styled and resized as needed. Notably, Adobe released similar features for Photoshop, their image-editing program, in April.
Additional features are also being added to the AI Assistant, which uses generative AI to provide answers to document-related queries. It can provide insights into the document by answering queries, summing up and organizing data from various sources, and identifying trends. According to Adobe, its AI assistant can not only reply but also provide citations, facilitating the user’s ability to quickly and easily find the source and relevant section without having to read the entire document.
Adobe has introduced meeting transcript abilities to the AI Assistant as well. It can now automatically produce AI-powered generative summaries for online meetings. According to the company, this enables users to stay up-to-date on discussion topics and important actions.
Adobe has announced that users can enjoy the Acrobat AI Assistant features for free until June 28. After that, they will need to subscribe to the AI Assistant add-on. Additionally, as of June 18, all users of Acrobat Standard and Pro will receive 250 free generative credits each month to edit and create images.
